Roslyn English, OAM, has lived a life shaped by service, sorrow, and extraordinary strength. From her early years in country New South Wales to a career of quiet leadership across the arts, health, and community sectors, Roslyn has consistently used her voice and heart to uplift others. Her story is one of resilience — through widowhood, cancer, and personal loss — and of grace, shown in her decades of tireless advocacy and care for her community.
Roslyn English, OAM, has spent her life in service — to her community, to the arts, to women, and to the quiet, everyday courage that carries us through the hardest seasons of life.
From country beginnings in NSW to a life full of leadership, Roslyn’s journey has been marked by resilience, advocacy, and heart. She’s known for her decades of work with the Gosford Musical Society, where she served as President and was named a Life Member.
She’s been honoured with numerous awards — including the Central Coast Council’s Australia Day Award for her contribution to arts and culture, and in 2022, the Order of Australia Medal for her long-standing community service.

Roslyn’s story is one of love, loss, and rebuilding. After the sudden death of her first husband, Kevin, she was left to raise three daughters while navigating legal, financial, and emotional challenges.
In the space of just 18 months, she endured the loss of four loved ones. And yet, in the midst of overwhelming grief, Roslyn found a new kind of strength — the kind that comes not from perfection, but from persistence.
Her experience as a widow, a breast cancer survivor, and a community advocate has given her a deep, lived understanding of what it means to be courageous, even when life unravels.
Now in her 80s, Roslyn has embraced a new role as an author, speaker, and widowhood mentor. Her debut book, The Widow’s Courage, shares the wisdom she’s gained from decades of walking with grief and rebuilding with grace.
Through her keynotes, mentoring, and writing, Roslyn helps other women find hope, healing, and strength within themselves. She brings lived experience, warmth, and clarity to spaces where silence and uncertainty often reign.

Today, Roslyn continues to live on the Central Coast with her beloved second husband, Frank. Whether she’s speaking on stage, mentoring a widow through her first year alone, or advocating for the needs of her community, Roslyn leads with love — and shows us all what it means to rise with purpose.
A quiet, supportive space for women navigating grief — where Roslyn shares reflections, encouragement, and gentle reminders that you’re not alone.
